In our current research of air purifiers targeted to the dental industry, we could not find one that addressed all of the concerns of our dental professionals. For this reason, we’re excited to be working with Aeris on an enhanced Dental Clinic Air purifier to add to the premiere Aair Pro model lineup!
Our Dental Clinic Air purifiers strive to address the concerns specific to the dental clinic. They are powerful, yet quiet, and every Aeris Air purifier emits a perfect zero particle count that surpasses true HEPA standards. In fact, our Dental model will filter with 99.995% efficiency at 0.1 microns, exceeding the 0.3 micron rating of most dental units currently on the market. In addition, every purifier model comes equipped with proprietary A-sense technology with a built-in laser sensor. This allows every unit to consistently test the airborne particulate concentration in the room and display the air quality score in real time. The Aeris app also enables you to read the air quality in the room and adjust your air purifier settings from anywhere.
The EPA has Plasma Technology listed for its ability to Sterilize and/or Kill Airborne/Colonized Microbials, Viruses, and Bacteria.
How airborne pathogens and allergens are inactivated by Genesis 2:24 Plasma Ions:
The dimensions are quite compact at 15” x 15” x 24” without the source extraction attachment. With the source extraction attachment, the width will increase by approximately 5” on the base to support the attachment. The dental workplace exposes dentists, staff and patients to a wide variety of air pollutants throughout the workday. The Aeris Air Pro Dental Series Purifiers are designed to specifically target and eliminate the hazardous toxins known to exist in a dental office. With the marriage of the highest standards of HEPA filtration to the proven benefits of plasma ion technology, it is our mission to create a healthy workplace for our dentists, their staff and patients.
Air Quality and Dental Offices: Dental work coupled with the use of various chemical compounds leads to a range of potentially harmful airborne contaminant exposure levels for dentists, staff and patients. Dental staff are most at risk from exposure to this concentration of air pollutants rarely found in most indoor environments. Purahome has been in many diverse commercial environments and believes Dental Office environments have some of the most challenged indoor air quality. The US Department of Labor has ranked Dental practices as having the worst air quality from over 900 different occupations.
Micro-organisms: The use of high-speed drills and ultrasonic scaling equipment generates fine droplets which are light enough to stay airborne for hours. Bacteria and viruses, which are contained in these micro-droplets, are easily inhaled and constitute a potential source of infection.
Mercury: Numerous studies show that dentists and their staff have higher than average levels of inorganic mercury (Hg) in their blood and urine. Mercury vapors can be released by the placement and the removal of amalgam fillings. They may also be released from office surfaces, where they may have accumulated over years of usage.
Disinfectants: Chemical disinfectants in a dental office are responsible for a generally unpleasant odor. Some disinfectants may also cause irritation and may have a sensitizing potential especially for staff.
Air Cleaning and Dental Offices: In order to effectively clean the air in a dental office, it is imperative that an air cleaning device capture both ultra-fine particles (microorganisms such as viruses and bacteria, droplets, dust) and gaseous chemicals (mercury vapors, gaseous organic compounds). To capture drill aerosols and other pollutants generated by dental work on patients, an air cleaning system with extraction at source is highly recommended. For whole office air quality improvement, portable air cleaning systems (sized accordingly) should be used at central locations including near the disinfection instruments. Centrally installed purification including microbial deactivation is also an option depending on the practice’s HVAC design. In all scenarios, Dental air purifiers should contain multiple modalities for bacteria and viral contagion elimination, true HEPA high-efficiency particulate filtration, as well as substantial gas phase filtration for mercury vapors, disinfectants and volatile organic compounds.
