Formaldehyde, a known carcinogen and common off-gassing substance in homes, passes right on by past a carbon filter. The oxidizing component in the V-5 Cell however, breaks it down and it gets adsorbed.

4. HyperHEPA® Filtration
Eliminates bacteria, viruses and automobile brake and combustion particles and smoke, through a nano-fibre structure. Filter life: 2 – 4 years based on 8 to 10 hours of daily operation using speed 3 or 4.

2 & 3. Granular Activated Carbon Adsorption & Pelletized Chemisorption/Oxidation
Carbon eliminates volatile organic compounds (VOC), which are responsible for odors. Chemisorption/oxidation destroys harmful chemicals, such as formaldehyde, by an oxidation process inside an oxidizing-impregnated active alumina pellet. Filter life: 1 – 2 years based on 8 to 10 hours of daily operation using speed 3 or 4.

1. Micro-particle Filtration
Eliminates micro-particles such as pollen, pet dander and mold spores. Filter life: 6 – 18 months based on 8 to 10 hours of daily operation using speed 3 or 4.
