Epurair Whole Home HEPA Air Purifier (C Model): Overview

Several years ago before the Epurair MA1C HEPA was being manufactured, we had met with the future owner of Epurair. His then company, and Purahome as well, were installing a competitive HEPA cleaner that worked well but was relatively loud and had difficult-to-change filters. On more than one occasion, a filter change resulted in a bloody knuckle or two. Needless to say, Purahome knew something had to be done. Our discussions with Epurair helped in creating the MA1C, a much quieter yet still just as effective HEPA Air Purifier with tool-free easy-to-change filters. Your Epurair MA1C can be used as a Portable Air Purifier (P Model) or Centrally Installed Air Purifier (C Model) and that diversity makes it a very unique HEPA Air Purifier indeed! It can easily be switched from one Model to the other by changing out the back panel and legs/wheels.

A tour of the Epurair manufacturing facility revealed hi-tech laser equipment for precision metal-cutting, very different than many manufacturers who rely on fold and rivet construction. Even more impressive was that every Epurair MA1 is individually tested and comes with a testing certificate to ensure that the system as a whole is providing HEPA quality air meaning that your Epurair MA1 is filtering the air to a minimum 99.97% Efficiency at 0.3 microns (that is HEPA standards). Our testing revealed:

• every single system was indeed providing HEPA Filtration Efficiency for improved customers’ air quality
• customers were getting exciting results in real-time, real-world testing situations at work and home in areas up to approximately 1600 square feet.

Central Furnace with an Air Exchange System

Air exchange systems are designed to ventilate newer homes that are too air-tight.  They do not however clean your indoor air of any particulate. If you have already have an air exchange system in your home, Purahome highly recommends a centrally installed air cleaner such as the Epurair MA1 to complete what is needed for your indoor air quality. What Air Cleaning Technology Is In My Epurair MA1 HEPA Series?

1. Carbon Prefilter

Air is drawn in through a carbon pre-filter in order to remove larger particles such as dust, pollen and fibres. The carbon pre-filter is disposable so it eliminates time-consuming cleaning. It is safe for the environment also - GO GREEN! Filter life: 3 months based on the Purifier being on all the time.


2. HEPA Filtration

Your HEPA filter eliminates bacteria, viruses and automobile brake and combustion particles and smoke, through a nano-fibre structure. Manufactured in the form of a cylinder, the Epurair HEPA filter boasts a far larger filtration surface area than rectangular filters. It also comes with an integrated diffuser for aromatherapy odour neutralizing and Microgerme sanitizing. Filter life: 2 – 4 years based on the Purifier being on all the time.

3. Carbon VOC Filter (also called a Post-Filter)

This final stage is utilized to capture airborne gases, VOCs and odors in moderation. VOCs (volatile organic compounds) are often generated by off-gassing from carpets, composite wood furniture and other materials in the home. Filter life: up to 12 months based on the Purifier being on all the time and the concentration of gases and odours in the home.

• Contemporary look is great but when used as a Portable Purifier for a smaller room with tight quarters, the size can be relatively obtrusive. This is not a concern when centrally installed.
• Top speed is powerful but loud in the Portable Model so in talking to our customers, they use it wisely (on low-medium speed when nearby and on high speed when further away or not at home). This is not a concern when centrally installed.

Warranty: 5 years – Epurair and Purahome are proud to cover this air purifier in Canada for a full 5 years against defects in parts and labour. Filters as consumables, are exempt from this warranty.
