The Airpura T600 Deluxe is an excellent air purifier designed specifically to purify your air of tobacco smoke in order to protect you and family members. It features a special tar barrier pre-filter combined with a massive, deep carbon bed of 26 pounds to adsorb as many of the 4000 chemicals and gases found in tobacco smoke as possible of which at least 60 are known carcinogens.
 

Purahome has chosen select models from a full line of Airpura Series Purifiers based on our President’s favourite, chemistry principles of course, and broad or specific control of gases, odours and particulate. When these select  Airpura Series Purifiers are tested, the following is revealed:

Your T600 Air Purifier is designed and engineered first and foremost by Airpura for cigarette smoke and odour control in your air. Purahome prefers your T600 Deluxe for all tobacco smoke situations and heavier cigar smoke and odour control because it can oxidize formaldehyde and other organics whereas the T600 does not. Your UV600 is excellent for particulate removal especially microbial contaminants, as well as great for VOC gases. Your P600 is similar to the UV600 but with photocatalytic oxidation added for enhanced broad spectrum gas and odour control as well as enhanced microbial control.

Thanks to both its vast amount and depth of gas removal media, the Airpura Series is able to meet almost any moderate gas and odour removal in your home or work environment. Your T600 Deluxe is an excellent choice for dedicated smoking areas in homes, restaurants, bars, public spaces, waiting rooms etc. Purahome reiterates time and time again that when possible, ventilation is always the number one solution for gas and odour control but in many applications when this is simply not possible, Airpura Stand Alone Purifiers are a great choice.

What Makes the Airpura Series an excellent choice?

The Airpura Series' advanced performance and features make it an excellent choice for individuals looking for serious gas, molecular and allergen control. These features include:

1. Targeted Gas & Molecular Control - Good Bye to Unwanted Gases and Odours

Airpura has custom designed specific air purifier models with massive gas filtration media amounts to target specific groups of air pollutants. This approach maximizes effectiveness and minimizes cost.

Purahome time and time again tells and shows most people who own a different air cleaner that their unit does very little to adsorb gases and odours despite the manufacturer’s claims. It’s simple chemistry and Purahome knows the formula. For example, the T600 excels at VOC removal whereas the T600 Deluxe is superior for formaldehyde. Formaldehyde, a known carcinogen and common off-gassing substance in homes, passes right on by past a carbon filter. The oxidizing component in the T600 Deluxe Model however, breaks it down and it gets adsorbed.

Many companies use zeolite in their purifiers whereas Airpura does not. Zeolite is 5x less expensive than carbon but is 7 times more dense. It adds nothing to the filtration process while costing more to transport and dispose.

2. True HEPA Filter – Extra Dense and Better Supported

The Airpura Series P600 and UV600 feature advanced filtration technology for superior airborne particle removal. Every Airpura HEPA filter is independently tested. They have 10 pleats per inch compared to most others at 6-8 pleats per inch. The pleats are properly supported with separators for improved airflow and dust holding capacity. As well, the HEPA media is warmed slightly during the pleating process to prevent cracking and tears in the pleats resulting in a superior HEPA filter.

3. Ultra-Quiet Design – Not “Shut that Off!”

Several design features make the Airpura Purifiers surprisingly quiet. Air enters from all sides and exits from the top. This provides 360° all around air intake and distribution. This simple and direct internal airflow avoids noisy turbulence associated with many air purifiers. The result is an air purifier quiet enough for your bedroom and virtually inaudible on the low fan-speed setting at 28.1 db. The variable speed control allows you to choose your optimum air flow and sound for your exact need at that time. Top speed is 62.3 dB.

4. Advanced Manufacture Design – Engineered to Perform 

Airpura units are designed with felt gaskets and pressure seals to maximize filtration, and eliminate both bypass and rubber off-gassing found in other filters. The backwards curved impeller fan/motor (excellent at moving air efficiently) is kept out of the airflow as are the electrical parts to prevent contamination of the purified air.

What Air Cleaning Technologies are in my Airpura Series Purifier?
 
1. Vacuumable PreFiltration

Over 4 square feet of prefiltration can be vacuumed to remove large particulate. This thorough particle pre-filtration is essential for extending the life of the gas phase control media by preventing its pores from clogging with larger particulates. Filter life: 12 months depending on use.

2 and 4. Micro-Supress Filtration

These non-woven filters are located on both the outside and inside of the gas filtration media to eliminate activated carbon and chemisorption abrasion particles. Filter life: change with the carbon media

3. Gas Filtration Media

Your P600 and UV600 use a 2” deep bed of high quality coconut carbon weighing 18 pounds. Filter life: 18 months for normal use up to a maximum of 24 months.

5. Micro- and Nano-particle Filtration

Your HEPA filter contains 40 square feet of media to eliminate bacteria, viruses, allergens and automobile brake and combustion particles and smoke, through a nano-fiber structure. Filter life: 2 – 4 years

6. UV Technology

The UV Bulb is brilliantly placed inside the cylindrical HEPA where the air is already pre-cleaned providing better UV Performance. The bulb can be turned on or off independent of the HEPA filtration. A warning lamp indicates the UV bulb status. Bulb life: 10000 hours or just over 1 year of continuous use.

7. Photocatalytic Oxidation

The Titan Clean Catalytic Oxidizer is coated with titanium dioxide and when it is irradiated by UV light, it produces safe effective oxidizers such as hydroxyl and super-oxide ions. These ions can break down chemical bonds of organic substances until the substances are typically broken down into harmless carbon dioxide and water. The Titan Clean Reflector (and the UV) is kept clean by the HEPA filter and therefore is more effective. The combination of the Titan Clean Catalytic oxidizer and 18 pounds of high grade carbon offers exceptional chemical and VOC reduction. Reflector Life: 18 months

What we are not excited about:

• Top speed is powerful but loud so in talking to our customers, they use it wisely (on a lower setting when nearby and on higher speed when further away or when not at home).
• Airpura systems are heavy and difficult to lift up stairs as there are no handles. With the heavy duty casters though, they are designed to be easily portable on a floor.

Warranty: 5 and 10 years – Airpura and Purahome are proud to cover this air purifier in Canada for a full 5 years against defects in parts and 10 years in labour. Filters as consumables, are exempt from this warranty.
