Microgerme is certainly one of Purahome’s favourite product lines. To help reduce the presence of microbial contaminants and to control their reproduction, we have found a natural, environmentally friendly sanitizing & cleaning product that is safe, and easy to use. You will not find any triclosan here!

This revolutionary multi-purpose GREEN product is called MICROGERME and comes in two forms: CONCENTRATE or CLEANER. Microgerme’s effectiveness is derived from the natural sanitizing ability of several plant extracts and is 100 % natural-based. MICROGERME has been laboratory tested and proven to be an effective sanitizer for various airborne contaminants and organisms.

100% NATURAL & EASY TO USE NON-TOXIC TREATMENT

MICROGERME CLEANER is hypoallergenic, biodegradable, non toxic, safe for the skin and environmentally friendly. It can replace virtually any cleaning product you are currently using. It will not damage equipment or surfaces, such as: metal, plastic, insulation, PVC, rubber, glass, etc. For cleaning surfaces, simply spray MICROGERME CLEANER directly onto the surface you want to treat. Allow it to work for a few minutes, and then simply wipe clean! No rinsing is necessary! MICROGERME CONCENTRATE is easy to use and a Purahome customer favorite. For sanitizing your homes ductwork, simply use the cotton applicator pad included with each kit. Pour the Microgerme concentrate on the pad and place it in the cold air return side of the furnace dust stop filter. Depending on how airtight your home is, the Microgerme aroma may last for several hours up to a day.

It Works Great But It Smells Great Too!

Just ask Tim, Owner of Condo Air Care (a Repeat Purahome customer, they order Microgerme Cleaner and Concentrate by the case load). Tim’s business is a much-needed one – they clean the ventilation systems in condominium complexes for each resident where mold control is extremely important. A Quick Story…

Purahome customers Mr. and Mrs. Freeman came in to pick up their annual filter kit for their CAP600 Whole Home HEPA Purifier as well as our Microgerme Concentrate Treatment (Many of our customers request Microgerme All-Natural Duct Sanitizing Treatment with their Air Filter Kit). Mr. and Mrs. Freeman were very pleased with their Abatement Whole Home HEPA Purifier. Their particle count was excellent and they could feel a difference in their home air quality. Mrs. Freeman was still experiencing her post nasal drip. After leaving our store, Mr. Freeman sanitized his ductwork (it only takes one minute) with the Microgerme Concentrate Treatment. For the next 3 days, Mrs. Freeman’s post nasal drip stopped! When Mr. Freeman called us to let us know what had just happpened, Purahome President Mario Di Franco concluded that there must have been microbial contaminants in the air conditioning coils being largely responsible for the post nasal drip.

What we are not excited about:

• What’s not to like? Only a small few have complained that the aroma is too strong, we believe it is less than 1% of our users.
• Canada needs to introduce a new category for registering GREEN products as Disinfectants (this implies the ability to kill microbials). Currently, a GREEN product would get lumped in together with other chemical-based Disinfectants with toxic side-effects that get registered and are given a DIN (Drug Identification Number). The manufacturers of Microgerme do not want it associated with a DIN. Purahome understands their reasoning but it would be nice to call it a Disinfectant. On the other hand, if Microgerme had a DIN, it would cost more money to purchase.
